Pet of the Week: Hercules

Pet of the Week: Hercules

Hercules is a shy guy who is looking for his new best friend for cuddles and play time.

He is almost 2 years old and almost 60 pounds. Once he knows you, he loves to be pet and will crawl into your lap and sit on you to ask for attention. He also loves to go on walks. Hercules has a positive history with kids and is recommended to go home with older children due to his shyness.

He would do best in a neighborhood without a lot of foot traffic and would love a fenced yard. Hercules does have good experience with appropriately matched social dogs, but he doesn’t like to share his favorite toys, so he would do best as an only dog or with a dog who would listen when he says “no.”

Prior to adoption, you’ll be able to meet with one of his trainers (Hercules is a graduate of the Behavior Center), so you can learn more about him and help to set him up for success in your home. If you’re considering adopting Hercules, set up an appointment with the San Diego Campus at

His adoption includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, a certificate for a free veterinary exam and an incentive for pet insurance from MetLife.

Hercules is available for adoption at San Diego Humane Society’s San Diego Campus at 5500 Gaines St. To learn more about making him part of your family, call (619) 299-7012.
