For more than 35 years, the Scripps Ranch Women’s Club has proudly upheld a tradition of supporting education by awarding scholarships to graduating female students of Scripps Ranch High School (SRHS). In addition, the club supports projects initiated by local schools and community organizations. Through these efforts, we celebrate academic achievement, community service and initiatives that enrich our community, creating a lasting positive impact in Scripps Ranch.
The Women’s Club 2026 Scholarship Program is now open to qualifying students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher who demonstrate strong community involvement. Applications, including transcripts, a recommendation letter and a personal essay, are due by April 11. Detailed application instructions and eligibility criteria are available through the SRHS Counseling Office and on the Women’s Club website at srwomensclub.org. Finalists will be invited to interviews in early May, providing an opportunity for club members to connect with and honor these exceptional young women.
This year, the Scripps Ranch Women’s Club Scholarship Committee is co-chaired by Club members Annette Stewart and Carolyn Prosi-Locke. Each year, the committee brings members together to meet and interview applicants, learning about their impressive accomplishments and future aspirations. It is a deeply rewarding experience to connect with these exceptional young women and hear about their hopes, ambitions and goals for the future.
Giving back and supporting the community is central to the mission of the Women’s Club. Through our Community Giving Program, we fund projects initiated by local schools and nonprofit organizations that enrich Scripps Ranch and make a meaningful difference. We look forward to continuing this tradition and invite schools and organizations to partner with us on initiatives that enhance our community. January kicked off our social year in style! From arts and culture to outdoor adventures, we discovered a wealth of opportunities to explore our diverse interests.
The Arts and Culture group enjoyed a fascinating docent-led tour at the San Diego Museum of Art, along with an immersive experience featuring the works of renowned Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida.
Theatre lovers had a memorable month at the Scripps Ranch Theatre, where we were captivated by “Donna Orbits the Moon.” A highlight of the evening was the pre-theatre gathering at the warm and welcoming home of Ann and Tom Massey.
To cap off January, we are excited to continue a beloved tradition – our Annual Beach Walk at La Jolla Shores, followed by a delightful luncheon at Piatti’s.
At the Women’s Club, there is always something exciting happening! Each month, our special events and regular interest groups offer a variety of opportunities to connect, socialize and have fun. With so many options, you can pick and choose – or jump in and enjoy them all! Activities range from Mahjong and Pickleball to Fun and Games, Book Discussions, Bridge, Bunco, Scrabble, Canasta, Arts and Culture, and Adventure Hikes. Whatever your interests, there’s an activity waiting for you to enjoy.
With our Scholarship and Community Giving Programs underway and a full slate of social activities, 2026 promises to be another community-oriented and fun-filled year in the Women’s Club. We welcome your interest!
