Second Saturday book sale set for Sept. 13
Library update: Replacement of the library’s fire suppression system has been completed, ending several months of disruptions in access and services. However, sometime this fall the library is scheduled to close completely for at least eight to ten months for additional overdue maintenance related construction, namely replacement of the roof and HVAC system. The date that this will occur is not yet known with certainty. Furthermore, the parking situation is unchanged and continues to be challenging.
Grace’s Book Nook: Thank you to all the enthusiastic customers and dedicated volunteers who helped make the Semiannual Book Sale so successful! In case you missed the sale or even if you had the pleasure, you can shop for amazing bargains on books every day at Grace’s Book Nook, the used bookstore in our library, open Mondays through Saturdays during library hours. This Scripps Ranch treasure stocks a wide variety of nearly new books for children of all ages, teens and adults, plus magazines, CDs, DVDs, new greeting cards, jigsaw puzzles (often), and even specially formulated duck food, which kids and adults alike enjoy feeding to the resident and migratory ducks and other waterfowl in nearby Evans Pond.
Don’t miss the next Second Saturday Sale, scheduled for Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be even more special than usual as shoppers will have another opportunity to fill the popular Big Yellow Bag for one low price! This sale will feature an expanded shopping area and an enhanced selection of books. The library and Book Nook are located at 10301 Scripps Lake Drive.
