Lacrosse team goes to championships

The Scripps Ranch High School boys varsity lacrosse team is on a winning streak that has propelled it all the way to the Division 1 CIF San Diego Section Boys Lacrosse Championship game.

Scripps Ranch defeated Santa Fe Christian High 5-4 in overtime in the CIF Division 1 Semifinals on Tuesday, May 15. The score was tied at the end of the first quarter, but the Falcons scored the lone goal of the second quarter to take the lead. Santa Fe Christian scored in the third quarter and the two teams battled through a scoreless fourth quarter. Scripps Ranch ended this nail-biter with a goal in overtime to earn a spot in the championship game.

The Falcons will take on La Jolla High School for the title on Saturday, May 19 in San Marcos starting at 5 p.m.
