Padres host 11th homestand

The San Diego Padres are home for their 11th homestand of the 2017 season, featuring games against the Los Angeles Dodgers and the St. Louis Cardinals. Here is a look at promotions for the fans:

Padres vs. Dodgers, Friday, Sept. 1, 7:10 p.m.
Party in the Park presented by Southwest Airlines will take place Friday. The party begins at 4:30 p.m. with live entertainment and drink specials available for purchase for $5.

Friday is Star Wars Night at Petco Park. As part of Party in the Park, fans can take photos with Star Wars characters and enjoy pregame drink specials in Park at the Park. There will be Star Wars-themed in-game entertainment. The special theme game ticket package includes a limited-edition Star Wars Night T-shirt. Shirt designs and sizes are available on a first-come, first-served basis and only to those who purchase the dedicated ticket package. For more information, fans can visit www.padres.com/starwars.

Friday is also Native American Night presented by Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, featuring a pregame ceremony to recognize the local Native American community and a ticket package which includes a raincheck voucher to receive a Special Padres Native American Night hat at a later date. The second Hedges Saxy Section will take place on Friday. Fans can cheer on Padres catcher Austin Hedges from his home-run-landing area in left field. Fans who purchase the Hedges Saxy Section tickets will receive an inflatable saxophone and themed sunglasses. Due to player scheduling, there is a chance Austin Hedges will not play on the designated Hedges Saxy Section dates. A limited number of tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis at www.padres.com/saxysection.

Nurse Appreciation Weekend presented by Sharp Mary Birch begins on Friday, a weekend-long celebration to recognize the hard work and dedication of all nurses and healthcare professionals as well as their friends and family. A limited-edition Padres retractable badge holder giveaway is included with the ticket package. Representatives from Sharp Mary Birch will participate in the pregame ceremony to mark the start of the weekend-long celebration. For more information, fans can visit www.padres.com/nurses.

Fan Rewards Month presented by Donovan’s Steak and Chop House begins on Friday, featuring a variety of activities throughout the month to thank Padres fans for their support. Fans attending games in September are encouraged to download the MLB.com Ballpark app and enable check-in offers for the chance to receive a special Fan Rewards Month scratcher card with a prize on each card. Fans will be treated to special offers, prizes, surprise experiences and seat upgrades throughout the month of September.

Padres vs. Dodgers, Saturday, Sept. 2, 12:40 p.m.
With Saturday being a doubleheader against the Dodgers, fans can take advantage of a full day of baseball by purchasing the Doubleheader Ticket Pack. The ticket package includes discounted tickets to both games and can be purchased at www.padres.com/dodgerdouble.

As part of the make-up game from Sunday, May 7, Saturday will serve as a Domingos Padres presented by T-Mobile celebrating Venezuelan culture. The promotion includes food and drink specials, and live entertainment from Casa de Venezuela at Park at the Park prior to Saturday’s game. Spanish broadcaster and former Padres catcher Carlos Hernandez, Padres Venezuelan players and representatives from Casa de Venezuela will participate in the pregame ceremony as part of the recognition.

Saturday is also Strike out Stroke Day as declared by the County of San Diego. Designed to promote awareness of the signs and symptoms of stroke and celebrate the stories of local stroke survivors, Strike out Stroke Day will feature representatives from local stroke centers and hospitals all around the ballpark, offering stroke prevention information and materials.

Thousands of Little Leaguers will participate in a Little League Parade on the warning track prior to Game 1 of Saturday’s doubleheader.

Please Note: Due to Saturday’s doubleheader, all fans will be asked to leave Petco Park at the conclusion of the first game and may reenter when the gates open for the second game.

Padres vs. Dodgers, Saturday, Sept. 2, 7:10 p.m.
As part of Baseball Night in San Diego, all fans in attendance on Saturday will receive a Commemorative Wil Myers “The Cycle” Bobblehead presented by Sycuan Casino. The Doubleheader Ticket Pack is available for Game 2 of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Dodgers. Fans can take advantage of a full day of baseball by purchasing the ticket package, which includes discounted tickets to both games of the doubleheader. The Fourth Annual Pacific Islander Night takes place on Saturday. This night features special entertainment in Park at the Park featuring Tribal Theory, and Nico Tuilesu from Tribal Theory will perform the National Anthem prior to Saturday’s game. A portion of each ticket sold through this event will support the PIFA Scholarship Fund. Fans can purchase tickets at www.padres.com/pifa.

Representatives of the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County will participate in the pregame ceremony as the Padres promote epilepsy awareness.

Fans are encouraged to stick around after Saturday’s game for a special Postgame Fireworks Show presented by T-Mobile with an alternative rock theme.

Padres vs. Dodgers, Sunday, Sept. 3, 1:40 p.m.
Sunday will serve as a Military Salute to the Veterans. Fifty veterans from Veterans Village of San Diego will line the baselines during the pregame ceremony. A representative from Veterans Village of San Diego will ring the Ceremonial Mission Bell. Padres relief pitcher Craig Stammen will be named a finalist for the 2017 Bob Feller Act of Valor Award. Staff Sergeant Sid Zimman, a 93-year-old veteran who was in Jerry Coleman’s squadron VMBS-341 “Torrid Turtles,” will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch. USMC veteran Sergeant Rocio Sanchez will perform the National Anthem prior to Sunday’s game and sing “God Bless America” during the seventh inning break. Nine USS Midway Museum docents will take the field to greet Padres starters at each position as part of “Military Take the Field.”

Sunday will include KidsFest, Compadres Kids Sunday Signings and Kids Run the Bases activities. KidsFest features bounce houses and other inflatables, games, face painters, balloon artists and more kid-friendly activities at Park at the Park beginning at 11 a.m. From noon to 12:30 p.m., two Padres players will sign autographs at the Park at the Park for Compadres Kids Sunday Signings. A Compadres Kids membership is required to participate. Membership is free, and kids can sign up online or in-person on the day of the event. Following Sunday’s game, kids 14 and under are invited to run the bases on the field. Kids and their families can begin lining up following the conclusion of the eighth inning at the top of the ramp leading to the Sun Diego Beach on K Street. Compadres Kids members will receive front-of-the-line privileges by lining up at the Park Boulevard Gate Plaza.

The fourth Friar Family Day at Petco Park takes place Sunday. This promotion includes a special ticket package with $15 tickets for kids (14 and younger) and $20 for adults. A hot dog and soda is included with each ticket. There will be access to inflatables and face painters for kids at Park at the Park prior to Sunday’s game. Following Sunday’s game, kids 14 and under with the Friar Family Day ticket are invited to run the bases on the field. Kids and their families can begin lining up following the conclusion of the eighth inning at the Park Boulevard Gate Plaza. Fans can purchase tickets for Friar Family Day at the Petco Park box office or online at www.padres.com/friarfamily.

Sunday is also Baja Youth Baseball and Softball Day. Hundreds of Little Leaguers from Baja California, Mexico will participate in a pregame warning track salute as part of the pregame ceremony. Players and coaches will also take part in a Q&A session with a Padres player after the game.

Monday is Comic-Con® Day, an extension of the popular annual San Diego Comic-Con®. Fans can participate in a costume contest in Park at the Park prior to the game with four contest categories. The winners will receive a pair of four-day passes to 2018 Comic-Con® and will be recognized during the pregame ceremony. A representative from Comic-Con® International will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch. There will be Comic-Con®-themed in-game entertainment throughout the night. A special theme game ticket package includes a ticket to the game, pregame costume contest in Park at the Park and a limited edition Padres-themed Comic-Con® Day T-shirt. The Padres Estrellas program presented by Arco continues its partnership with local school districts and non-profits to support the effort to reduce high school dropout rates and improve health and fitness behaviors within the Hispanic youth population. Prior to Tuesday’s game, students from two nonprofit organizations, STAR/PAL and Jackie Robinson YMCA, will be treated to tickets to the game and have the opportunity to watch batting practice from the field before taking a tour of the Jerry Coleman Broadcast Center.

Taco Tuesday presented by Cholula Hot Sauce takes place every Tuesday home game and features Petco Park’s favorite local tacos at a special price. For only $2.50, fans can choose from a variety of taco options at Carnitas’ Snack Shack, Wonderland Ocean Pub, Lucha Libre, Miguel’s, Seaside Market, Rimel’s and Brigantine.

The Padres will recognize Pediatric Cancer Awareness on Tuesday. Representatives from The Young and the Brave Foundation, the Seany Foundation and Rady Children’s Hospital will be recognized during the pregame ceremony for their commitment to supporting young adults, children and families diagnosed with cancer.

Padres vs. Cardinals, Wednesday, Sept. 6, 7:10 p.m.
The sixth Friar Family Day at Petco Park takes place Wednesday, including a special ticket package with $15 tickets for kids (14 and younger) and $20 for adults. A hot dog and soda is included with each ticket. There will be access to inflatables and face painters at Park at the Park prior to Wednesday’s game. Following Wednesday’s game, kids 14 and under with the Friar Family Day ticket are invited to run the bases on the field. Kids and their families can begin lining up following the conclusion of the eighth inning at the Park Boulevard Gate Plaza. Fans can purchase tickets for Friar Family Day at the Petco Park box office or online at www.padres.com/friarfamily.

Padres vs. Cardinals, Thursday, Sept. 7, 6:10 p.m.
Professional skateboarder Tony Hawk will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch prior to Thursday’s game.

The eighth College Night of 2017 will take place Thursday. A DJ will be spin tunes at the Budweiser Patio in Right Field from 5 p.m. to the conclusion of the game. College students will receive a special ticket discount with a valid student ID (advance price of $10 in a Right Field Upper Reserved College Night section; prices increase day-of-game).

Thursday is also University of San Diego Night at Petco Park as part of USD Welcome Week, including a night of school spirit with spirit squad performances pregame at Park at the Park and a pregame ceremony with USD-themed entertainment throughout the night. A representative from the University of San Diego will throw the Honorary First Pitch. A ticket package with discounted tickets and a commemorative USD-themed Padres hat is available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, fans can visit www.padres.com/usd.
