Riding a win into Homecoming week
The Scripps Ranch High School varsity football team is flying high after a 44-0 victory against Crawford High in an away game on Sept. 28. The Falcons will take the momentum from this victory, along with a 3-2 record, into the Homecoming game against San Diego High School at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5.
Sophomore Luke Durkin, who was ineligible to play for the first four games of the year because he transferred into Scripps Ranch High, finally got to play in his first game and started as quarterback in the 44-0 victory over Crawford. The Falcons offensive line gave Durkin plenty of time to make plays.
But it was the Scripps Ranch defense that really stood out, shutting out Crawford for the impressive win.
Falcons defense is also strong for the junior varsity program. The Scripps Ranch JV team defeated Crawford 41-0 last week. Crawford was out matched and out played in both the JV and varsity games by Scripps Ranch.
The Falcons JV team will play San Diego High at home starting at 3:30 p.m. on
Friday, Oct. 5.
The Falcons freshman team had a bye week but will play at San Diego High on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 3:30 p.m.
