Run & Ride starts July 4th festivities
There were plenty of smiling faces this morning as the Scripps Ranch Old Pros held the annual Fourth of July Run & Ride, launching six big events in 1.5 hours starting at 7 a.m. – kicking off the festivities for Independence Day in Scripps Ranch.
Everything seemed to go without a hitch. The Old Pros athletic club held a 10k run, a 2-mile fun run, a 12-mile bike ride, a 28-mile bike ride, a 28-mile trail bike ride (gravel), and a 50-mile bike ride. It all culminated with a celebratory festival in Hoyt Park. Approximately 4,000 people participated – not including spectators – making this the largest live event held in Scripps Ranch annually.
