SRHS knocked out by Torrey Pines
The Scripps Ranch High School boys soccer team made it to the semi-final round of the CIF San Diego 2019 Boys Soccer Championships in the Open Division before falling to Torrey Pines High School 1-5 on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
The Falcons scored the only goal in the first half, with 4:20 seconds to go. But the momentum of the first half didn’t carry over as Torrey Pines scored all five of its goals in the second half, not allowing Scripps Ranch to score again in the contest.
The loss closed out the season for Scripps Ranch, but not before the team earned its way into semi-finals with a victory over Cathedral Catholic High in the quarterfinal round on Feb. 12.
While the team’s CIF semi-final loss is a hard pill to swallow, the game was intense and exciting as demonstrated by these impressive photos.
