SRHS lacrosse: CHAMPIONS!

The Scripps Ranch High School girls varsity lacrosse team defeated rival La Jolla High to capture the CIF San Diego Section Girls Lacrosse Championships Open Division title 17-9 on Saturday, May 18.

Scripps Ranch scored first and was ahead going into halftime. The Lady Falcons held the lead to win by an impressive margin and earn the 2019 CIF San Diego Section Open Championship.

Earlier in the season, Scripps Ranch dropped a game to La Jolla in overtime, one of only two of the team’s losses this year. But the Lady Falcons had their revenge as they ran away with the big game Saturday to close out their championship season, clearly proving which team is the best.

Scripps Ranch fought through the CIF San Diego Section Girls Lacrosse Championships Open Division post-season bracket to the championship game by first beating Del Norte 18-5 on May 11 in the quarterfinals, then defeating San Marcos 19-4 in the semi-finals on May 15.
