As the temperatures climb and fire season intensifies across Southern California, your Scripps Ranch Fire Safe Council remains laser-focused on keeping our community informed, prepared and resilient.
July Focus: defensible space and community readiness
July is the peak of summer – and that means dry brush, hot temps and high fire danger. Now’s the time to:
• Trim trees to eliminate ladder fuels
• Check your gutters and roof for dry debris
• Review your evacuation plan and make sure your go-bag is stocked

Join the Council – we need you!
Our Council is made up of your neighbors – volunteers who are working to reduce wildfire risk in Scripps Ranch. But we can’t do it alone.
We’re actively seeking new board members and volunteers who want to make a difference:
• Do you care about wildfire safety?
• Want to help organize educational events or fuel reduction projects?
• Have skills in outreach, social media or community planning?
There’s a role for everyone – and no experience is needed, just a willingness to help. Email us at srfiresafecouncil@gmail.com to learn more or attend our next meeting.
Fuel reduction work
We’ve begun to pinpoint and uncover targeted fuel reduction in high-risk areas – particularly canyon edges and evacuation routes. We’ll keep you posted on progress and next phases. Want to help scout or report high-risk areas? Let us know!
