Scripps Ranch SIR receives certification
There is a lot to celebrate at Scripps Ranch SIR! Our branch has officially received its chartered certificate from the state organization, recognizing us as the first SIR branch in Southern California. With close to 100 branches throughout California, we are proud to be part of such an outstanding organization.
SIR offers retired and semi-retired men a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, try new activities and simply have fun with others who enjoy staying active. What makes our group special is that our members help shape what we do, so there is always something new to look forward to.
Our activities include golf, pickleball, poker, backgammon, Happy Hour, wine tasting and much more. We also enjoy getting out and exploring interesting places together. Recently, members toured the General Atomics DIII-D National Fusion Facility, which works with the Department of Energy on magnetic fusion research.
And it isn’t just about the men! Many of our activities, including Happy Hour, wine tasting and group tours are open to wives and partners, making this a great way for everyone to enjoy time together.
Our monthly luncheon, held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at Mainstream Bar & Grill in Poway, is a great way to get to know SIR. It’s a relaxed and friendly gathering where members catch up, enjoy lunch, hear about upcoming activities and listen to an interesting guest speaker. If you’re curious about SIR and would like to learn more about the group, this is a wonderful opportunity to join us, meet some of our members and see firsthand what we’re all about.
