Beta Maxx rocks Hoyt Park with ’80s hits
The turnout for the June 11 Scripps Ranch Symphony in the Park Series can accurately be described as nothing short of enormous. The gigantic crowd rocked out and listened to a rousing tribute to hits from the 1980s as retro band Beta Maxx stirred the audience in a packed Hoyt Park.

Space on the park’s grassy surface was at a premium, but the crowd was cordial. Many adults as well as children danced near the stage while members of the band played everything from artists such as Michael Jackson to Simple Minds. The concert was a roaring success.

The next concert in the series will feature Siren's Crush playing modern dance music Sunday, July 16, starting at 6 p.m. in Hoyt Park. Visit symphonyinthepark.org.
