Farmer’s Market sets Trick or Treat Day
All ghosts, goblins, superheroes, princesses and any Halloween-loving persons are invited to attend the annual Trick or Treat Day at the Scripps Ranch Farmer’s Market on Thursday, Oct. 29.
This festive event offers an afternoon and evening of trick or treating, shopping, dining and overall Halloween fun. There is no fee to enter the market.
Parents should make sure their children bring their trick or treat bags because there will be plenty of goodies. Farmer’s Market vendors will have lots of treats for the kids.
“We want all of the children to come in costume. We want them to bring their trick or treat bags. Every single vendor will be handing out treats to the kids,” said Farmer’s Market manager Beverly Cassity. “We want the whole family to come.”
Parents are encouraged to dress their children in costumes – and parents can also dress up. An abundance of photo opportunities will be available for fun Halloween pictures.
The vendors will decorate their booths, and many will dress in Halloween costumes. There will be dozens of vendor booths featuring food, fresh produce, clothing, jewelry and services.
“We’re encouraging all the vendors to decorate and wear costumes themselves,” Cassity said. “We’re going to have
a jumpy in the front.”
The giant jumpy slide for the children will be provided by Blue Bear Entertainment of Scripps Ranch.
Fun music will be playing to get everybody into the Halloween spirit.
Cassity emphasized the warm, family-friendly feel of the market. She said the Scripps Ranch Farmer’s Market is a great place to make new friends in the community, especially if someone is new to the area. In addition, it is both kid-friendly and dog-friendly.
“This is the place where you bring your family and friends on Thursday nights for wonderful get-togethers,” Cassity explained. “You make friends with the people, the vendors – you make friends with other people you’re eating with. … Come for trick or treating and stay for dinner.”
The Scripps Ranch Farmer’s Market is held every Thursday from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 10045 Carroll Canyon Road.
