SR Pop Warner had a great September
The Scripps Ranch Pop Warner 13U football team was invited by the Los Angeles Chargers to play a game after the Chargers’ home game against the Las Vegas Raiders at SoFi Stadium on Sept. 20.
The team traveled up to Los Angeles for the game against a team from Point Loma Pop Warner. The Falcons were successful and remained undefeated at that point in the season. The football team and a Scripps Ranch Pop Warner cheer squad took the field in the enormous SoFi Stadium that day.
This Falcon 13U team has played together for several years and are captained by Scripps Ranch student athletes Luke Harrison, defensive end; Jesus Diaz, defensive tackle; Sebastian Romero, offensive tackle; and Rocco Serra, linebacker.
Later in the week, Scripps Ranch Pop Warner hosted its annual Blue Angel Bowl. Scripps Ranch Pop Warner Football & Cheer events at the Scripps Ranch High School football stadium coincided with the famous MCAS Miramar Air Show on Sept. 26 as aircraft flew overhead. It is a great place to watch the airshow and local youth football teams. This year, it was an international event as a team from Mexicali, Mexico, accepted an invitation to play in the bowl game. Teams from La Mesa, Del Mar, Point Loma, Temecula as well as Scripps Ranch participated in the event. San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria was scheduled to to flip the opening coin toss.
Scripps Ranch Pop Warner fields youth football and cheer teams for kids ages 5 through 14. The season runs from August to November. Home games are played at the Scripps Ranch High School football stadium.
