GIANT SKELETON RETURNS
Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego is gearing up for Halloween with the return of the famous 12-foot-tall skeleton! The skeleton has once again taken its place in the Giant Kelp Forest in preparation for this year’s Halloween events at the aquarium, 21+ Oceans at Night: Halloween; and family-friendly Halloween Aglow!

Oceans at Night: Halloween
Grab your ghoul-friends and join in for a night of skele-fun at Oceans at Night: Halloween at the Birch Aquarium. There will be hauntingly delicious drinks, underwater pumpkin carving, arcade games and more! This 21+ event takes place on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. This event will sell out, so snag your tickets before they’re gone.

Poefest
Write Out Loud announces “Poefest,” co-directed by Rachael VanWormer and Veronica Murphy. Performances will take place on Oct. 23, 24, 30 and 31, with three performances each evening at 6, 7:30 and 9 p.m. Performances take place throughout the Villa Montezuma Museum in Sherman Heights.

Halloween Movies in the Park
“Practical Magic” will be featured at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 23 as part of the County’s Summer Movies in the Park. Join Women in the Wild, an outdoor skills program, for a romantic fantasy about two sisters from a family of witches who learn about sisterhood, courage and the power of accepting who they are. MRE Halloween Carnival
The annual Miramar Ranch Elementary School (MRE) Halloween Carnival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the school grounds. The entire community is invited to the annual Miramar Ranch Elementary School Halloween Carnival on Oct. 24. Entrance is free. Tickets for games and activities will be available for purchase at a booth near the entrance.

Fallbrook Halloween Festival
The Fallbrook Halloween Festival will take place from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Fallbrook Community Center. The event includes carnival games, giveaways, resource booths and a costume contest. Farmer’s Market Trick or Treat Day
All ghosts, goblins, superheroes, princesses and any Halloween-loving persons are invited to attend the annual Trick or Treat Day at the Scripps Ranch Farmer’s Market on Thursday, Oct. 29. Parents should make sure their children bring their trick or treat bags because there will be plenty of goodies.
