Gardeners celebrated the growing season

The Scripps-Mesa Garden Club members gathered just after Thanksgiving to celebrate the benefits of their hobby. Members shared dishes featuring products from their efforts in making their yards productive as well as beautiful. The Garden Club, which has attracted members from both Mira Mesa and Scripps Ranch since 1993, meets monthly except in December. They will resume their
fourth Tuesday evening schedule at the SR Library in January. Guest speakers and garden tours are planned that will enhance their knowledge of the best techniques to be used in local gardens. Challenges made by weather, soil, insects and other factors are regularly addressed in their programs.
