Join us to hear the speaker in February

Our Kiwanis Club is excited to have Richard Lederer as our featured speaker for our club meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
Richard is a linguist, author, speaker and teacher. He is known for books on wordplay, puns, oxymorons, anagrams and the English language. He has written more than 50 books on the subject. His column “Lederer on Language” appears in the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Richard is a San Diegan and Scripps Ranch resident. He was a founding co-host of the program “A Way with Words” on Public Radio.
We invite the Scripps Ranch community to join us for this local speaker at the Whispering Ridge Clubhouse at 12465 Oakfort Court at 5:30 p.m.
The final gift of the year
Our club rounded out the year by donating money at the end of December to Feeding San Diego. We’ve supported Feeding San Diego financially as well as by volunteering for them. The club felt it was a very timely organization to donate to at this particular time of year. We were given a thorough and informative facility tour at the Waples Street location by CEO Bob Kamensky on Dec. 23.
