Santa & Mrs. Claus visit Scripps Ranch

Everyone knows Santa Claus visited Scripps Ranch to deliver gifts early Christmas morning, but many kids know that Santa and Mrs. Claus made a special visit to the Scripps Ranch Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning, Dec. 23.

The famous couple from the North Pole left the sleigh at home, choosing to drive a pickup truck to the market instead, unloading Santa’s special chair so he could sit while visiting with local children.

There was much excitement in the air as Santa and Mrs. Claus made their way into the market and set up to listen to Christmas gift wishes from the kids in the crowd. One-by-one, each was given special attention as they whispered in Santa’s ear.

Other highlights on this special day at the market included a raffle for a new kid’s bike, pony rides, a Jumpee with a slide, live Christmas music, free crafts and a special holiday treasure hunt.

The Scripps Ranch Farmers Market offers a wide variety of vendors on Saturdays at 10380 Spring Canyon Road, in the Innovations Academy parking lot. Next Saturday, Dec. 30, the Scripps Ranch Farmer’s Market will be closed so vendors will be able to spend holiday time with their families. It will re-open on Saturday, Jan. 6 with new hours: 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Visit

Gail Faber (left) and Nina Salinas, two leading parent volunteers at Ellen Browning Scripps Elementary School, pose for a photo at the kids’ craft booth. Faber was running the market’s craft booth and Salinas was selling See’s Candies to help fund the 2018 Scripps Ranch High School Grad Night.
Connie Strawn was dressed in festive holiday attire as she staffed the Hilliker’s Ranch Fresh Eggs, Inc. booth.
