Parents and students protest during meeting
Approximately 35 parents and students stood in the hot sun at Marshall Middle School this morning to make their voices heard as the College Board and San Diego Unified School District officials met inside to talk about retesting for 547 Scripps Ranch High School students whose Advance Placement tests were ruled invalid.
The Board found irregularities in the seating during the tests and made its decision, forcing re-exams to be offered later this month and again in August. Parents and their students want the test scores reinstated since the students affected were not responsible for the seating irregularities. Last night, during a forum about this subject, parents and students learned that the College Board would be in town today for an earlier meeting with the school district as well as the 9 a.m. meeting at Marshall Middle School.
