Falcon basketball club tryouts Wednesday

The final session of tryouts for the Falcons Basketball Fall Club Team for boys in grades 5 to 8 will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 30 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Miramar College.

The Falcons Basketball Club is a basketball program in the Scripps Ranch area that focuses on teaching fundamentals, discipline and developing the individual skill set of each player. The program prepares the youth of Scripps Ranch for high school basketball.

There will be two teams per age division (subject to change), and there will be no more than 10 players per team. The club teams are coached by current coaches in the Scripps Ranch High School program, under the direction of Scripps Ranch JV Head Coach/Miramar Assistant Coach Steve Jones.

Games will be played mostly on Saturdays and Sundays. Most games will be at Alliant International University or Miramar College. It’s possible some teams will play in a few weekend tournaments.

In addition, Falcons Basketball will serve the Scripps Ranch community in various community service events throughout the year.
