Xander and Tiger were in epic battle
Golf pro Xander Schauffele – a former Scripps Ranch High School golfer – was locked in an epic battle on the leader board of the 2019 Master’s Tournament today with golf legend Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka. While Woods, who has not won a major tournament in several years, eventually pulled away, there were actually a few others who remained in striking distance although their chances diminished as the tournament entered its final rounds. Tiger was finally victorious, completing a glorious comeback in the world of professional golf.
Schauffele tied for second place with Johnson and Koepka.
This year’s Masters became a tournament for the ages as so many pros stayed near the top, with younger golfers such as Schauffele making impressive performances. The fact that Tiger Woods made an incredible showing in what is considered the top tournament on the pro golf tour made this competition so much more exciting for golf fans. This is an incredible chapter in the career of the ever-popular Tiger Woods. In fact, thousands of fans gathered in the gallery at Augusta, Georgia, and so many more watched the tournament on live television. It also rocketed Schauffele to the top of professional golf’s elite even more than before.
